Inflation for January 2025 slightly eased to 23.5%, down from 23.8% in December 2024.
Food inflation continued to rise, reaching 28.3% in January, the highest in 10 months, up from 27.8% in December 2024.
However, non-food inflation dropped to 19.2%.
Inflation for locally produced goods also declined to 25.7%, down from 26.4% the previous month.
In contrast, inflation for imported goods slightly increased, rising to 18.4% from 17.9% in December.
Key categories like alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and narcotics recorded a 27.2% inflation rate.
Food and non-alcoholic beverages followed closely with a 28.3% rise, while housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels saw an inflation rate of 24.6%.
These sectors experienced higher inflation than the national average.
The Western region recorded the highest inflation at 49.9%, while the Volta region had the lowest at 18.0%.
