Ing. Julius Kpekpena has been appointed as the acting Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), taking over from Ing. David Asamoah.
Prior to this appointment, Ing. Kpekpena was the Director of Engineering at ECG before moving on to the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA).
He now faces the pressing task of rejuvenating the company, which is currently dealing with operational challenges and striving to ensure a reliable power supply while discussions about privatisation are ongoing.
Ing. David Asamoah has been serving as ECG’s Acting Managing Director since September 26, 2024, following the resignation of Samuel Dubik Mahama.
Before his appointment, Mr. Asamoah held the position of Deputy Managing Director, overseeing Commercial Services at ECG.
