Ghanaian actress and filmmaker, Kafui Danku-Pitcher, has been appointed the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA) Ghana.
Kafui is an accomplished Ghanaian filmmaker, author, and entrepreneur with expertise in creative arts, tourism, and economic development.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English and Classics from the University of Cape Coast and is currently pursuing an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) at the University of Ghana.
With a diverse skill set in leadership, governance, communication, digital literacy, and innovation, Kafui is dedicated to advancing the creative arts, cultural preservation, and economic growth in Ghana.
Since 2008, Kafui has worked as an actress and filmmaker and has served as an executive producer at ABC Pictures Limited since 2013.
Additionally, she worked with the UNHCR as a Repatriation Assistant, showcasing her ability to implement standards, interview refugees, conduct socio-economic surveys, and propose strategic solutions.
An activist and Goodwill Ambassador, Kafui has launched initiatives such as ‘Silence Is Not Golden’ to encourage women to speak out, campaign against child marriage, and support children with Kwashiorkor.
She has received recognition for advancing the role of women in politics and has been awarded the Tourism Personality of the Year 2024 and the Most Outstanding Women Entrepreneur’s Rising award.
Through her ‘Dream Achievers Project’, she supports start-up businesses and fosters economic development. She has been invited to major summits like the UN Summit of the Future 2024 and the Women Empowerment Summit.
As the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority, Kafui aims to create a thriving creative arts industry in Ghana, empowering practitioners and contributing significantly to the country’s GDP.
