King Faisal FC mourns the loss of its head coach

King Faisal’s head coach, Prince Acheampong, popularly known as ‘Sabuto,’ has sadly passed away at the age of 52 after a battle with illness.

Acheampong had been hospitalized for several days before succumbing to the undisclosed ailment on Tuesday afternoon.

He was appointed King Faisal’s head coach in January 2025, taking over from Barnabas Awuni.

The football community is shocked by the news, with Asante Kotoko expressing their condolences and offering prayers for Acheampong’s family, loved ones, and the entire King Faisal fraternity.

Acheampong had a notable coaching career, having worked with Dunkwa United, Fabulous Ladies FC, and the Porcupine Warriors.

He also achieved success with Opoku Ware School (OWASS) and T.I. Ahmadiyya SHS in the Ashanti Regional Inter-School Boys’ Soccer Competition.
