Kofi Kinaata reflects on life’s fragility after helicopter tragedy

Ghanaian musician Kofi Kinaata has shared a deeply personal reflection following the recent helicopter crash that claimed the lives of senior military officers.

In a Facebook post, the award-winning artiste said the string of tragedies—from the loss of 16 children in an earlier incident to the passing of legendary musician Daddy Lumba and now the helicopter crash—has left him heavy-hearted.

“What makes it even harder is knowing I’ve been on that same flight twice this year. That thought just won’t leave me,” he wrote.

Kofi Kinaata admitted that the events have made him question life’s meaning and its unpredictability. “Moments like these really make you question life… What’s the point when it can all end in an instant?” he asked.

He added that while he has turned to music for comfort, even his songs have taken on a sombre tone. “I’ve tried to shake it off with music, but every song I write somehow turns into a sad one,” he said.
