Kumasi passport applicants agitate over delivery delays

Source The Ghana Report

Passport applicants in Kumasi are expressing growing frustration over delays in receiving their documents from local courier services.

Many of them fear missing scheduled visa interviews as the situation drags on with little communication.

Dozens of applicants have been visiting the courier company’s office in Asokwa daily, hoping to retrieve their passports.

While the passport office has confirmed that the documents have been handed over to the courier, applicants say they have not received any delivery or meaningful updates.

Speaking in an interview, several affected individuals described the uncertainty they have been dealing with over the past few weeks. One applicant, who has a visa interview coming up next week, said the delays are putting important plans at risk.

“We have been waiting for weeks, and now our visa interviews are in jeopardy. No one is giving us answers. It’s very frustrating,” the applicant shared.

In response to the growing complaints, Troskit, the courier company, has issued a public apology, explaining that an unexpected technical issue had temporarily affected their delivery system. The company claims the issue has been resolved and that deliveries are now being processed.

However, many applicants remain doubtful, saying they will only believe it when they receive their passports in hand.

As of now, the scene outside the Troskit office remains tense, with anxious applicants still waiting and seeking answers.
