Ledzokuku MCE pulls down unauthorized billboard at flowerpot interchange
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ledzokuku, Israel Adjetey Otchwenmah, has led a team to remove an unauthorised billboard at the Flowerpot Interchange in Accra, ahead of a directive from the Ministry of Roads and Highways.
The assembly acted proactively, taking down the structure before the Ministry issued its directive, which stated that the billboard violated national advertising and road safety regulations.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, August 20, the Ministry confirmed that the billboard had not received the required approvals.
It cited the billboard’s non-compliance with Section 5 of the Ghana Standards Authority’s Advertisement Specification for Outdoor Signs (GS 847:2019), Sections 11 and 15 of the Advertisements Act (Act 540), and Section 188 of the Road Traffic Regulations, 2012 (LI 2180).
