French Ligue 1 club RC Lens is gearing up for a summer overhaul, with plans to offload players including Ghana midfielder Salis Abdul Samed, as reported by French outlet Foot Mercato.

Samed, aged 24, has encountered a challenging season marked by numerous injuries and a struggle to find form following his recovery from those setbacks.

In the current Ligue 1 campaign, the midfielder has been limited to just 17 starting appearances, a stark contrast to his previous contributions. Specifically, Samed has featured in only eight starting lineups in 2024.

This downturn in performance stands in stark contrast to Samed’s significant role during the previous season, where he played a pivotal part in RC Lens’ successful bid for Champions League qualification.

During the preceding campaign, Samed featured in 33 Ligue 1 matches, contributing one goal and one assist as RC Lens secured their spot in the prestigious European competition.

Additionally, he made four appearances in the Coupe de France, further highlighting his importance to the team.

As RC Lens prepares for the upcoming transfer window, they are expected to entertain offers for Samed and other surplus players in the squad.
