Licensure Examination: TTAG confirms exam dates and revised format

The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has officially confirmed the dates and revised structure for the 2025 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE), following consultations with the National Teaching Council (NTC) and the Ministry of Education.

According to a statement from TTAG’s National Secretariat, final-year students and re-sitters are advised to take note of the updated schedule and new exam format.

First-time candidates in Level 400 will write the GTLE from Monday, 13th to Wednesday, 15th October 2025. Re-sitters are expected to take their papers on Monday, 27th, and Tuesday, 28th October, although these dates remain tentative.

Candidates will be required to pay an examination fee of GH¢450 and an indexing fee of GH¢50.

The new GTLE format is designed to improve the credibility and effectiveness of the exam, aligning it more closely with modern standards in teacher training. Full details on registration, structure, and procedures will be made available soon by the NTC.

To support the transition, the NTC will organise Zoom orientation sessions through TTAG’s administrative channels. These sessions aim to address questions and help candidates adjust to the revised exam system.

“All affected candidates are advised to take note of these directives, prepare adequately, and follow official updates keenly,” TTAG stated.

TTAG has assured students of its continued collaboration with the NTC and Ministry of Education to safeguard the interests of teacher trainees throughout the process.
