Luka Modrić set to become minority owner at Swansea City

Croatian midfield icon Luka Modrić is stepping into football ownership, with a deal in place for him to become a minority shareholder in EFL Championship side Swansea City.

The Real Madrid star will join the club’s ownership group alongside Andy Coleman, Brett Cravatt, Nigel Morris, and Jason Cohen. The move marks Modrić’s first official involvement in football business as he begins preparing for life beyond the pitch.

Despite this new venture, the 38-year-old’s commitment to his playing career remains unchanged. As previously reported, Modrić is determined to continue playing for Real Madrid beyond the current season.

The 2018 Ballon d’Or winner’s decision to invest in Swansea signals a long-term vision, even as he continues to operate at the highest level of European football with Los Blancos.

Swansea City currently sit 12th in the Championship table, eight points adrift of the playoff places with four games remaining in the season. The club is also in search of a permanent manager after parting ways with Luke Williams in March, with Alan Sheehan currently serving as caretaker boss.
