Mahama had Kohwe on his payroll – Mr. Beautiful claims
The death of Ghanaian actor, Kofi Laing, popularly known as Kohwe, and the public appeal for funds by veteran actor Psalm Adjeteyfio, have sparked conversations on the royalty system in the creative arts industry.
Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has bemoaned the situation where veteran creatives tend to the public to solicit funds after years of labouring, he has, therefore, called for the establishment of a vibrant royalty system

Wading into the conversation on a solid royalty system, Kumahood actor, Clement Bonney, best known as Mr Beautiful, has revealed that the late actor Kofi Laing was on the payroll of the 2020 National Democratic Congress flagbearer, John Mahama.
According to him, the NDC leader was donating to Kohwe every three months.
In a video circulating on social media, the NDC sympathiser, Mr Beautiful, is seen donating items to Kohwe on behalf of the NDC leader.

“He was given GHS 1, 000 and food items till he died,” he said.
Kohwe died at his residence in Accra on Thursday, September 16.
His death was confirmed by his daughter, Comfort Laing.
He died at 75.
He is well known for the Akan Drama series in the ’80s, where he played hilarious roles to put smiles on the faces of ardent fans.
He was also featured in the TV sitcom District Colonial Court.
