A 35 year old man from Kwesimintsim in the Western Region, Kojo Mensah has been arrested by police for attempting to commit suicide in parliament.
He tried to jump from the public gallery onto the chamber but was arrested before he could get in motion.
His reason for attempting suicide is immediately unknown.
Commander of the parliamentary security protection unit, Superintendent Freeman Tettey said his team will be vigilant to ensure nothing of that sort ever happens in parliament.
‘I don’t think we will relax with security. We have been vigilant from day one and we will continue to do that”. He added.
Meanwhile, the said man has since been picked up by the police.
