Medical Negligence: Tamale Teaching Hospital responds to reports on patient’s death
The Tamale Teaching Hospital has responded to a series of allegations of medical negligence in the death of a patient transferred to the hospital.
This response comes after the family of the deceased accused the hospital of medical negligence, which led to the death of their relative.
The hospital in a statement issued on Sunday, April 20, 2025, explained that the deceased was transferred to the hospital for a procedure that could not be done at the hospital.
Also, all four intensive care unit beds, which serve the entire Northern part of Ghana, were fully occupied when the patient arrived.
Management of the hospital further urged the general public not to draw premature conclusions about the matter, as a committee has been constituted to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
