Ghanaian rapper Kojo Cue has revealed that he quit music due to challenges with his mental health.
Kojo Cue exited the music scene in 2021 at the point he was thriving alongside colleagues like E.L., Joey B, Lil Shaker, and others.
In an interview with Zionfelix on April 16, 2025, Kojo Cue explained that his struggles with mental health and other personal issues were overwhelming, causing him to quit music and pursue other ventures.
“From the end of 2021, I had stopped making music. For almost two years, I stopped making music altogether. I even gifted my studio equipment.
“It was more of my personal life. Some things happened in 202,0 and dealing with it did not go as I wanted. My mind and focus were not on music. So that was what caused me to stop and focus on something different.
“Mental health was the major reason I had to stop to be able to deal with some stuff going on in my mind,” he said.
Kojo Cue added that, due to the severity of his struggles, he made a decision to stay away from social media and deleted all apps.
“It got to a point I even stopped being on social media. For almost 6-7 months, I deleted all the apps and did not visit any of the platforms. I needed to interact with people because the narrative on social media is different when you speak to people,” he added.
The rapper disclosed that although he was not making music at the time, he, together with some friends, were working to well-establish a music marketing company they had formed in 2020.
In 202,0, during the COVID pandemic, together with some friends, we formed a music marketing company. Our plan was to help Ghanaian artiste expand their tentacles. We were helping musicians with streaming, marketing and PR. The first three people we started with were free,” he stated.
However, after a long break from music, Kojo Cue is back with a new song, ‘Abebrese’ featuring Fameye.
