The body of a middle-aged man has been found in a gutter under bizarre circumstances at Jampede in the Berekum West District of the Bono Region.
The body, which bore multiple bruises, was suspected to be a case of lynching.
Residents confirming the incident said they discovered the lifeless man in the trench on Monday morning.
Many believe that the deceased was killed elsewhere and later dumped at the scene.
Some residents suspect he may have been a victim of mob justice, possibly linked to a failed theft attempt, citing the rising incidents of robbery in the area.
Concerns have also been raised over the apparent delay in police response, as the body remained at the scene at the time of reporting.
Master Yaw, a motor mechanic whose shop is near the site where the body was found, urged authorities to remove it so he could resume his daily activities swiftly.
