The Minority Caucus in Parliament has formally written to President John Mahama, requesting an audience to present a petition on what they describe as “matters of great public concern requiring urgent attention”.

The letter signed by Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, was submitted to the Presidency on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

In it, the caucus notifies the President of its intention to deliver the petition in person at the Jubilee House on Thursday, July 24.

While the contents of the petition have not been disclosed, the letter emphasises the urgency and national significance of the issues, calling for “fair-minded leadership and definitive action” from the President.

“The petition details issues of great public concern which require your fair-minded leadership and definitive action to address the challenges they relate to,” the letter reads.

The Minority’s move reflects deepening concern over recent developments in governance and national affairs.

Mr. Annoh-Dompreh concluded the letter with confidence in the President’s willingness to engage, stating: “Kindly accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration”.
