Money, women cause breakups of groups —Sobolo Geng

Many music groups attribute many factors to their breakup but Ghanaian Hip-Hop trio, Sobolo Geng have named women and money as major causes.

According to Sobolo Geng, their position is based on years of research and observation and were determined not to allow money and women to bring confusion among them.

“At the moment, it appears music groups are nonexistent in Ghana. One can count the number of music groups in the country now, they were uncountable not too long ago.

“We admired some of them and wished they were still very active but unfortunately, the groups’ vibe is missing in the industry at the moment.

“We always tell ourselves that the group first before any other thing whether money, women or anything else for that matter and we hope to abide by that”, said Billy, a member of the group to Graphic Showbiz.

He explained that in order to keep the group going and together, they always remind themselves of why they came together and where they want to go.

The group was formed in 2020 by its members— Billy (Bismark Owusu), J Song (Dennis Mensah Bonsu), and Egudie (Maxwell Owusu).

Sobolo Geng officially released their first song Yewo Krom on January 21, 2020, and followed it up with Kasoa which gave them a lot of recognition, especially in Kasoa where they live.

In July 2021 the group came out with their third single titled Kantanka Made and a Highlife party jam, Shele in 2022.

They currently have a new single, Kyeiwaa and are very hopeful the song which is making steady progress will catch on quickly with the music audience.
