MoTCCA clarifies public confusion about its official name

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA) has issued a clarification on its official name, citing public confusion stemming from multiple references to the Ministry by different names in the media and public discourse.

In a press release signed by Mabel Delassie Awuku, Head of Public Relations, the Ministry has emphasised that its official and legally recognised name is indeed the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA).

The Ministry explained that the name reflects its renewed mandate to integrate the creative arts industry as a core component of Ghana’s cultural and tourism development agenda, which aligns with its original name at the time of its creation.

The Ministry has therefore urged the public, particularly media houses, to take note of the clarification and refer to the Ministry by its official name in all official communications and references.
