Muntaka Finally Retracts and Apologizes For Bribery Allegation Against Supreme Court Judge

The Member of Parliament for the Asawase Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka has issued a retraction and formal apology to the Supreme Court of Ghana.

The Minority Chief Whip after the election of the Speaker of Parliament alleged that a Supreme Court judge had called a female NDC MP to influence her to vote in for Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye.

Muntaka Mubarak in a statement retracted and apologized for his comments which in his view had damaged the reputation of the Justices of the Supreme Court and the Judiciary.

“It is my fervent prayer that the existing historic cordial relations between the legislature and the judiciary will not be affected by this incident but will continue to grow in the interest of the country,” the statement concluded
