Hiplife icon, Tinny, has revealed that, beginning his career, his first-ever song recorded was a gospel song.
Speaking in an interview, Tuesday, July 29, 2025, the rapper shared lyrics of the first song he recorded.
“They got closer in the morning, every day,
“Every day and night I’m on my knees praising the Lord, and we sing Hallelujah.”
“It was the first song I recorded, I remember,” Tinny noted.
Tinny entered the music scene in the early 1990s as a child, performing at age eight by singing and rapping at parties and funfairs.
He began more formal performances in 1994 at Fun-World, an entertainment program held every Sunday at the National Theatre in Accra, Ghana.
His major breakthrough came in 2003 with the release of his hit single Makola Kwakwe, which propelled him to prominence in the Ghanaian hiplife scene.
After a long hiatus from the music scene, Tinny is back with two new singles, ‘We Dey Conquer’ and ‘Barrier’, which are now available on all music streaming platforms.
The two tracks are a prelude to a 13-track album that Tinny is set to release this year.
“Conquer dropped recently, Barrier is here, I am working on my album, which is about to drop and building up to the album, like four to five tracks will follow before the album comes,” he told Trigmatic.
