Naming ceremony turns bloody after shooting incident in Gbawe

A naming ceremony being held in Gbawe Zero, a suburb in the Greater Accra Region, took a tragic turn on Friday, June 20, when a shooting incident left one person dead and another seriously injured.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred during a violent clash between two rival Asafoatse (traditional leaders).

The injured person is currently receiving treatment at Legon Hospital.

Eyewitnesses described how what was meant to be a joyous occasion erupted into chaos as a disagreement escalated into gunfire.

Meanwhile, the Gbawe Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.

The police have not yet released any official information regarding the identities of those involved or the reasons behind the conflict.
