The new Municipal Chief Executive for Lawra in the Upper West Region, Alhaji Adams Muaza is dead.
He died Tuesday morning, the media has been told.
This is coming barely two weeks after the Lawra Municipality was hit with a tragedy with the drowning of seven students in the Black Volta at Dikpe.
Since his appointment and confirmation in April this year, the new MCE has not been well and has yet to take office fully.
Prior to his political appointment, Alhaji Muazu was a respected educationist. He served as the Upper West Regional Coordinator for Physical Education at the Ghana Education Service (GES) and had a distinguished career as a teacher.
He was an alumnus of Wa Senior High School and NJA College of Education in Wa. He later earned a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from the University of Cape Coast.
Alhaji Muazu Adams succeeded Mr. Jacob D. Dery of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the Lawra MCE.
Tributes have begun pouring in from colleagues and residents, describing him as a humble and dedicated public servant.
