Nigeria’s national team captain, William Troost-Ekong, is now expected to be available for the 2022 World Cup playoffs against Ghana later this month.
The defender earlier had a groin problem but he seems to be fine now.
This comes after his club, Watford, issued an update on Wednesday.
Troost-Ekong has returned to full training, according to a statement on the Premier League club’s website.
“William Troost-Ekong makes his return to full training today following a minor groin problem, but tomorrow’s Molineux encounter is likely to come too soon for the Nigeria captain,” the statement read.
He has been an unused substitute against Burnley, Aston Villa, and Crystal Palace since his return to the UK after the 2021 AFCON.
Nigeria will play the Black Stars of Ghana on March 25th at the Cape Coast Stadium.
