Norwegian club invites Ghanaian teenager Fatawu Ganiwu for trials
Ghanaian teenage sensation Fatawu Ganiwu has been invited by Norwegian side Viking FK for trials during their training camp in Marbella, Spain.
The 17-year-old midfielder represented Ghana at the U-17 level where he was instrumental for the team and caught the eyes of European scouts.
Despite the club’s limited knowledge about the player, Ganiwu was recommended to the club through trusted contacts.
Viking FK Head coach Morten Jensen admitted that he has never seen Ganiwu play but is open to assessing his potential.
Notable past signings include Samuel Adegbenro and Suleiman Abdullahi, and Ghanaian midfielder Latif Issah Ahmed who made a significant impact after impressing during their trials.
Fatawu had previously underwent trials with Chelsea and Red Bull Salzburg.
The midfielder is currently registered with Legon Cities FC, in Ghana’s top division, where he has made six league appearances.
