The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffuor Awuah, has announced that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) intends to pursue legal action against the Electoral Commission (EC) following its decision to re-run the 2024 parliamentary election in 19 polling stations within the Ablekuma North constituency.
“We are going to court. My update is that we are going to court, and what steps we have taken since are yet to come to my attention,” he said.
Mr Baffuor Awuah expressed the party’s disappointment with the EC’s handling of the matter, describing it as inconsistent and troubling.
He noted that the EC had previously asserted its ability to declare the parliamentary results in the region, indicating that the only remaining issue was the need for security measures.
The NPP remains steadfast in its belief that the EC’s recent actions lack transparency and jeopardize the integrity of the electoral process.
