One more ‘monstrous’ hit and King Promise will be nominated AOTY again – Captain Planet

Ghanaian musician Captain Planet, a member of the now-defunct music group 4×4, believes King Promise could receive a nomination for another Artiste of the Year at next year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), if he releases another big hit.

In a post shared on his official X account, Captain Planet stated that with the spotlight now on King Promise, fans will look out for his next move.

“If King Promise comes with some monstrous hit again, he can likely be nominated AOTY next year because now the spotlight is on him and everybody will be keeping up with whatever he has going on,” he wrote.

He said that the same reasoning applies to the other Artiste of the Year nominees, implying that any of them might be nominated if they produce significant music in the upcoming year.

“Same applies to the other AOTY Nominees,” he added.

King Promise won four awards at the 26th TGMAS; Best Afropop Song, Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste, Best Album/EP of the year and Artiste of the Year.

Although he came close to winning the Artiste of the Year award in 2024, it eluded him, and Stonebwoy took home the prize.
