The vetting process for the first batch of ministerial nominees by President John Mahama is set to begin today, Monday, January 13, 2025.

This follows the formal approval of Parliament’s Appointments Committee on January 9, which is responsible for vetting and recommending candidates for key ministerial and senior government positions.

The upcoming vetting will involve a detailed review of each nominee’s qualifications, professional background, and overall suitability for their designated roles.

This comprehensive process ensures that only the most capable and experienced individuals are appointed to serve in the new administration, reinforcing the commitment to good governance.

Among the initial nominees to undergo this rigorous scrutiny is Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, the Member of Parliament for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam and current Majority Leader, who has been nominated as the Minister for Finance.

He will be followed by John Abdulai Jinapor, the nominee for Minister of Energy, and Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, proposed as Attorney-General and Minister of Justice.

With the Appointments Committee fully in place, Parliament is poised to conduct a thorough and transparent vetting process.

This essential step will play a significant role in shaping the leadership team that will help bring President Mahama’s vision for his new term to fruition.
