Patrick Boamah appeals to Kufuor and Akufo-Addo to help resolve NPP internal tensions
Patrick Yaw Boamah, the Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, has passionately urged former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to step in and help resolve the escalating internal tensions within the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He believes their intervention is crucial for restoring order and unity.
This appeal comes in light of reports about factional disputes and power struggles that have emerged within the NPP ahead of the upcoming presidential primaries scheduled for January 2026.
Boamah stressed that the presence of these two respected former leaders could play a significant role in alleviating tensions and refocusing the party on its core values and long-term vision.
“This party has produced two presidents. We are fortunate to have two former presidents alive,” Boamah stated.
“I am calling them to call for some action and order in the party because this party produced them. If we are going through this turmoil, we ask that they call people round the table and have a heart-to-heart chat with them.”
The legislator, in an interview on Channel One TV on Monday, expressed deep concern regarding the ongoing situation in the party, which has been affected by internal divisions and public disagreements.
