Perfect Timing to be crowned Artiste of the year- Kwami Eugene
Kuami Eugene glowed on a glorious night on Saturday when the best of the country’s lyric champions lined up at the Ghana Music Awards.
Beyond the glitz, the ‘Open Gate’ hitmaker who has been releasing bangers since 2016 believes the Artiste of the year crown is a great promotional opportunity for his upcoming album “Son of Africa”.
Magnanimous in victory, he said his award does not mean he is a better artiste compared to others, but rather, perfect timing to cause the whole world to go listen to his album to find out why he was crowned the Artiste of the year.
“So this is perfect timing. Perfect timing not to prove to the world that I am a better artiste but to tell them that, I have been crowned artiste of the year and this is my album, use this opportunity to go listen to my album and understand why I was given the Artiste of the year,” he told Joy FM in an interview monitored by theghanareport.com.
With an album already in his name, the silky-voice highlife sensation says his second album slated for launch on October 9 is worth being an album of the Artiste of the year.
“It is an album I am anticipating as well, for it to be out there, for people to have a feel of it because I can say it is worth being an album for an artiste of the year,” he stated.
Kuami Eugene was crowned the Artiste of the year at the 21st Vodafone Ghana Music Award of the Year at an event he also won Highlife Artiste of the year on Saturday.
The other renowned artistes in the category of the Artiste of the Year were Sarkodie, Kofi Kinaata, Diana Hamilton and Medikal
