There have been demonstrations and arrests in the Tindouf Camp in Algeria. It descended into violence in front of the headquarters of the head of the Polisario Front.
Sahrawi gendarmerie militias affiliated to the Polisario Front launched the attack on the demonstrators. The peaceful protest was started by the family of the Sahrawi detainee, “Mohamed Salem Maa El Ainin Asweed”, outside the private office of Ibrahim Ghali. It was met with excessive force and violence.
The attack left some women injured and the arrest of “Didi Mohamed Souid, Mohamed Malaainine Souid, Abdelhay Limam Jouli, Banna Ould Bougrine, Ould Zobeir Ould Maatala, Aziz Ould Hmetu Ould Maatala, Ould Abreir, Khalihenna ould Jouli Ould Nane, Hossein Ould Sidi Moussa, Moulay Ould Malaainine Souid and Hmetou Ould Maatala”.
So far, the Polisario militia armed group continues to persecute some of the protesters, and some of the detainees have circulated audio clips proving that they were taken to Dheibiya prison.
