Renowned female highlife musician, Akosua Agyapong has asked the chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) interim management committee, Rex Omar to desist from attacking her personality in her call to get the right things done at GHAMRO, otherwise, she will reveal his secrets.

“I want Rex Omar to know that I have a lot of secrets about him and if I start talking, he cannot stay in Ghana. I said there is no transparency at Ghana Music Right Organisation (GHAMRO) and if you don’t agree with me, the best thing is to prove me wrong and not attack my personality. Is Rex Omar’s name GHAMRO?

“There was a time he told me that my actions are influenced by menopause but such remarks are not relevant to the issues at hand. I need transparency about our welfare and if you don’t have any better answer, attacking my personality is not right.

“Rex Omar, I have so many secrets about you so stop attacking me,” she noted in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report with Graphic Showbiz.

Rex Omar recently refuted claims that GHAMRO neglected the late Kwadwo Akwaboah when he was ill.

Akosua Agyapong alleged that the late Kwadwo Akwaboah contacted GHAMRO for financial support for medication at a time, but he was given only GH¢250.

She wondered whether the executive could attend the funeral of Akwaboah Senior and give him a befitting burial after allegedly giving him that meagre amount at a time of need.

In reply to Akosua Agyapong, Rex Omar, posted on social media :

“Akosua is the biggest liar! So why didn’t she speak about it till now that the man is dead? We have no such records in our welfare books. Kwadwo was a very proud man and will never say any such thing to anyone,” he wrote in a Facebook comment.

“During his entire years of sickness, it’s only once he ever asked for assistance from GHAMRO, and when he did, GHAMRO welfare took him to the hospital in their vehicle to meet his doctor, and there was no money paid to Kwadwo himself but to the hospital. Records are there to prove this: Kwadwo is dead, so now, suddenly, Akosua has become his spokesperson? She should shut up with her fabricated stories and allow the man to rest in peace!” he further stated.

The legendary highlife musician Kwadwo Akwaboah died on May 16, 2023, after falling ill.

The one-week celebration of the late Kwadwo Akwaboah is scheduled for May 30, 2023, at Trede Funeral Grounds.
