Legon Cities Football Club Communications Director, Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang, has stated that parting ways with head coach Joachim Yaw Acheampong was a “hard decision”.
He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports in the aftermath of Legon Cities’ latest head coaching change in the Ghana Premier League.
Prior to taking up the Legon Cities job, Yaw Acheampong had served in the same capacity at Elmina Sharks, Aduana Stars and Ashanti Gold.
Despite the immense experience of Acheampong, Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang believes that results ultimately led to the decision.
“It was a hard decision we had to take; results had not been great and we found ourselves sucked into the relegation zone and we felt we had to do something, we felt we had to move in a different direction.”

“It was a tough decision but management was of the opinion that results were not coming in like we wanted when we hired Mr. Yaw Acheampong.”

Legon Cities rank 17th in the 18 team league standings and take on league leaders Nations FC next on May 16.
