Residents in parts of the Greater Accra Region would experience an eight-hour power outage today, Monday, July 21, 2025.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will be conducting scheduled maintenance to enhance the electricity supply.

The maintenance work will take place from 9 am to 5 pm, impacting several areas, including Santana, Alajo, Tesano, Oyarifa Ankonam, Special Gardens, Oyarifa White House, Teiman, Glefe, Wiaboman, and nearby neighbourhoods.

In a public notice released on Saturday, July 19, ECG highlighted that these efforts are part of their ongoing commitment to improve service reliability and strengthen infrastructure throughout the capital.

While the company acknowledged that the maintenance could cause temporary inconvenience, they emphasized that it is essential for maintaining a stable and efficient power distribution system in the future.

“ECG will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery,” they stated. “We regret the inconvenience caused to affected customers.”

ECG has assured that power will be restored promptly once the maintenance is complete. Residents and businesses in the affected areas are encouraged to plan ahead to minimize any disruptions to their daily routines.
