Six outstanding females receive Women of Excellence Awards

Six distinguished women have been honoured with the 2022 Women of Excellence Awards.

There were shortlisted from various sectors to receive the awards instituted to recognise the contribution of women to society.

The awardees are: Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala (Director-General, World Trade Organization), H. E. Reem Ebrahim Al Hashimy (The Minister of State International Cooperation and Managing Director for Expo 2020), H.  E. Rev. Dr. Naa Asie Kabuki Ocansey (Principal Consultant to the Government of Sierra Leone for Direct Investments and Decent Work), H. E.  Ambassador Claudia Quintero (Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Columbia to Ghana), Mrs. Nadia Murabet (Founder and President Miracle Africa International Foundation), and Ambassador Nancy Quartey Sam (Vice President ECOWAS Tourism Private Sector Confederation).

They were honoured as part of celebrations by the African Women of Excellence Awards (AWEA) Committee to mark the Millennial International Edition of the African Women of Excellence Awards (MIE-AWEA) 2022.

This year’s unique millennial celebration of International Women’s Month was celebrated in collaboration with the  International Free Zone Authority (IFZA) Dubai, at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club in Dubai. This ceremony was held on the weekend preceding the Annual Investment Meeting in Dubai.

The MIE AWEA 2022 was designed to inspire, to recognize and to enjoy the achievements of some remarkable women and men for their outstanding contributions towards gender equality and justice which has become a grand beacon of light in the global journey towards equality.

Two outstanding men also received the He for She awards at this event. They were in persons of Mr. Samuel DossouAworet (Chairman, Petrolin Group; Founder and Chairman, Foundation Espace Afrique and Chairman African Business Roundtable) and Mr. Kerry Adler (CEO, President and Founder of Skypower Group of Companies). These 2 men were honored for their contributions towards supporting women’s initiatives around the world.

The African Women of Excellence Awards was conceived as a platform to recognize, honor and appreciate

Women of Africa and the Diaspora who have significantly contributed to the struggle for Political, Social and Economic independence at various levels with Excellence. The MIE Committee recognizes our interconnectivity in the global village and hence reaches out to recognize global visionary leaders of excellence internationally.
