Suspected kidnappers arrested at Lapaz
Two suspected kidnappers have been arrested from their hideout in Abeka Lapaz, a suburb of Accra.
The suspects, Abdul Saeed and Kudjo Akorlor, demanded GHC1000 ransom with the promise of releasing the victim.
According to the police, the victim’s elder sister paid the ransom through mobile money the kidnappers provided.
But the kidnappers failed to keep their side of the bargain.
They subsequently demanded more money which forced the frustrated family to lodge a complaint with the police.
Law enforcement officers proceeded and were able to arrest the suspects who are currently in custody.
Police are yet to establish the circumstances which led to the victim’s abduction.
However, they have appealed to the general public to report suspected cases to expedite actions to curb crime.
