‘Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord (Leviticus 19:28)

Tattoos! Beware!

Symbols have profound effects on our life; and, equally profound, is the ignorance about their functions. Symbols convey external (exoteric) and internal (esoteric) meanings, and their relevance to any person depends on the significance the person attaches to the symbol.

In almost all fields of human activity: politics, art, commerce, religion, artistry, designing, engineering, warfare, and leisure, among others, symbols exist to inspire, protect, communicate, intimidate, comfort, fortify, guide, and illuminate those who have located their faith in those symbols.

Flowing from the antiquity of symbols in humanity’s civilisation, the current revival of symbols as art form-tattoos-in a new culture of personal adornment, appear to be a normal human propensity, and, therefore, nothing to be alarmed about.

However, several persons are ignorant of the specific effect of a chosen symbol in their life, and they may be having unexplainable challenges without linking those things to the symbol on their body!

We shall enter the world of tattoos and know what they symbolise and their effects on the human personality. For my readers sake, I shall state what observers and persons in the field of tattooing say about their work, then explain what they say.

Tattoos

• Tattoos have their roots in the indigenous and pagan religions, and their spiritual and magical qualities are the underbelly of today’s ink explosion. Many tattoo enthusiasts don’t realise that they are imprinting a permanent talisman and conscious affirmation onto and into their body.

Tattoos feature eminently in religious and magical ceremonies because of the inner meanings of the symbols. When a person etches a tattoo on himself, he places himself under the influence of the dominant symbol on his body.

• Tattoos are a meaningful form of self-expression. They do not only transform your skin but also your consciousness.
Since symbols have several meanings, the choice of tattoo shows a person’s outlook on life, and the personality he wants others to identify with. He conditions his mind to be what he has symbolised himself to be.

• Tattoos are more than just body art. They are a self-proclamation of one’s consciousness, identity, and being. The art has a spiritual or supernatural quality that surpasses normal comprehension. We embody the mystical energy of our tattoo symbols. The symbol you choose to tattoo, in a sense, becomes a portal.

The spiritual world communicates to humanity through symbols. When a person tattoos, depending on the symbols used, he attracts spirit beings into this life, and that affect his behaviour. In other words, he becomes another person.

• When you decide to get a tattoo, you are also taking part in a potent blood ritual that opens your inner pathways to self-awareness. You are crossing a threshold and making a commitment to a symbol that you wear and embody.
Similar in meaning to the above, the blood that comes out of you when the etching is being made, establishes a covenant with the spirit of the symbol, and that links your destiny to the whims and caprices of that spirit by the blood covenant.

• Where you choose to place your tattoo is significant in the language of energy. Certain places on the body take in and expel lots of energy. Your body has many energy centres, along with 12 main meridians and over 350 acupuncture points located along the meridians. The tattoo design and body placement should be carefully considered because it interfaces with the subtle body (aura) energy field.

Our body is a wonderful, divine instrument for habitation of the soul, and spirit of God. When you tattoo the heart area, for example, you interfere with the energy that God has placed in the heart area, and that disturbance is bound to affect the energy field (aura) around you.

• Tattoo images penetrate deep within the depths of your psyche, and open you to the promptings of your soul’s affinity to things of the world.
What this means is that tattoos, by the very nature of being magical or religious symbols, open your mind to the promptings of your soul to inclinations that you might not have been aware of. For instance, you might realise that you feel and think you can heal a person by praying for, or laying hands on the person; or, you feel disinclined to have anything do so with the opposite sex.

• Tattoos are powerful talismans and, even if you are not into the esoteric, your tattoos can act as transmitters, projectors, or attractors.
The belief is that some tattoos are powerful attractors of ‘good luck, while others too attract “bad luck’. As transmitters, they relay energy of an unseen nature that instigates other elements in the spiritual realm to connect to the person.

• Tattoos are memorials of persons, events, favourite songs, parents, or heroes.
Well, this aspect seems innocuous, as we have some people with names of their parents, wives, husbands, teammates, or lines of songs, or flowers tattooed on them. These aspects of tattoo may still have inner meanings and impulses that affect the person, without being conscious of such impulses.

• Tattoos cryptically reveal your inner soul. They give insight into your spiritual self, hint at past lives, and suggest what you may be attracting toward your future.
What it hints at is that your choice of a symbol may be a subconscious inner urge that bespeaks the language of the soul, and may be impulses from your former life. The nature of the symbol attracts energies that also define your future for better or for worse.

Although not all tattoo symbols are manifestly negative, the whole culture of tattooing is opposed to the divine command that we must not tattoo! It implies that the adversary of God is he who has inspired tattooing, and keeps it in vogue.

If you decide to tattoo, know what it means: disobedience to God, and covenant with the Devil!
