The Late AB Crentsil Finally Goes Home
The final funeral rites of the famous highlife gem Alfred Benjamin Crentsil known as AB Crenstil, in the entertainment industry, are underway at Ewoyaa, near Saltpond in the Central Region.
The late AB Crenstil passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at the Bank Hospital after a short illness. He was 79 years old.
The family commenced the funeral rites today in his hometown with several sympathisers from the entertainment industry paying their last homage to the highlife legend.
Some musicians at the funeral ground described the late AB Crentsil as a “mentor, gem, hero, legend and a good father to all”.
The late AB Crenstil has to his credit many songs such as ‘Moses, Atia, Devil, Juliana, Ye Wo Adze a Oye [Osokoo], I Go Pay You Tomorrow, Ayen, Angelina, Obi Baa Wiase, Atia Specia, Memba Bio, Ma Mendwen Me Ho, Obeye Amawo, Nyame Ne Hene, Adjoa, Odo Na Onipa Hia’ and others.
He also won several awards, including the special “Fontomfrom Evergreen Award”, which is conferred on musicians who have been in the music industry for 15-20 years.
