There are options on the table- Kotoko Comms Director on Head Coach Situation

Communications Director of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Sarfo Duku Esq., has stated that the club are looking at several options beyond Abdul Karim Zito as the club looks to sort out its head coaching situation.

Karim Zito served as interim head coach following the sacking of Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum two months to the end of the 2024-2025 season but his future remains up in the air despite aiding the club win the MTN FA Cup via a 2-1 win over Golden Kick.

Kotoko have qualified to compete in the 2025-2026 CAF Confederation Cup after winning the FA Cup title; Kotoko finished third in the Ghana Premier League.

Speaking to Sporty FM during Kotoko’s visit to the Manhyia Palace to present the trophy to team owner Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Sarfo Duku stated that the Porcupine Warriors are looking at all options to sort the issue out.

“Events have changed; there are other options on the table. It is through our discussions that we will know which of the options will be the best for Kotoko” he said before praising Karim Zito saying,

“He’s an experienced coach, he has what it takes to take us to Africa if management decides…why not? But that will be after we’ve discussed his technical report and assess it and then draw our conclusions.”
