The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMET) has issued a weather alert for today, Tuesday, April 15, 2025, highlighting the possibility of thunderstorms and rainfall in various regions nationwide.

According to GMET, misty conditions are expected early in the morning over forested and mountainous areas, which may reduce visibility and affect early morning travel.

As the morning unfolds into the afternoon, coastal and some inland areas are likely to experience thunderstorms along with rain.

Later in the day, regions in the middle and transition zones might also encounter thunderstorms, with showers not guaranteed, as we move into the evening. Furthermore, the northern areas could see some storm activity in the evening.

In terms of temperature, it’s forecasted to be quite hot throughout the country today. The northern regions will feel the heat most intensely, with temperatures soaring up to 41°C.

The transition zone may reach highs of 36°C, the forest zone 35°C, and the coastal zone 33°C. Nighttime temperatures are expected to range from 23°C to 25°C across different zones.

GMET is urging everyone to take the necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to strong winds and heavy rain. Commuters and motorists should also remain vigilant due to potential visibility issues caused by morning mist and rain.
