Tourism Ministry forms Committee to investigate demolition of Asaase Pa Resort

The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture has established a committee to investigate the demolition of the Asaase Pa Resort, situated in the Cape Coast Metropolis in Ghana’s central region.

The committee’s primary responsibility is to explore the historical factors leading to the demolition and devise ways to address the concerns that have created anxiety within the diaspora community in Ghana.

The committee, which comprises members from various organizations, including the Central Region Administration, the Ghana Tourism Authority, the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly, Asaase Pa Resort, and the Diaspora Coalition, will convene on March 22, 2023.

The committee has been given two weeks to produce a report after their meetings.

As a reminder, the Assembly demolished the famous diaspora resort, which generated significant controversy among the diaspora community in Ghana.

To evaluate the situation, the Minister dispatched a delegation to meet with the Central Regional Minister and the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly’s top officials in an effort to reach a resolution.
