Two students of Osino Presbyterian Senior High and Technical School in the Eastern Region have lost their lives in a gory accident at Teacher Mante.
The two who died on the spot were Florence Anordjan and Ayeh Ruth, while eleven others in critical condition are receiving treatment at the Nsawam Government Hospital.
It is reported that a Nissan minibus with the registration number GG-2071-21 got involved in the accident as it was transporting the students of Osino Presbyterian Technical Senior High School to Accra following their midterm break on Friday, June 2.
According to some eyewitnesses, the driver was over speeding, which led to the unfortunate incident.
A tyre of the vehicle got burst, and the driver lost control of the wheel resulting in the car somersaulting.
The bodies of the two students have been deposited at the Nsawam Hospital mortuary.
Meanwhile, the Police Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) has initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.
They are collaborating with the school’s management to contact the parents of the deceased and injured students.
