A tragic incident unfolded at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), when a first-year male student allegedly committed suicide following the revelation of his partner’s infidelity.
The girlfriend is said to have engaged in an intimate affair with another person at Ghana Universities Staff Superannuation Scheme (GUSSS) Hall Two, a residence on campus.
Upon hearing the report, the young gentleman reportedly collapsed.
On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, the young man was found hanged.
According to close associates, the emotional turmoil from the cheating incident deeply affected him, contributing to his decision.
Authorities have since taken the body into custody, and the Winneba Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this devastating event.

A family source, Ms Bernice Ahorlete, revealed that on the day of the incident, the deceased fetched water down and then went out, giving the impression that he had just gone out to buy something.
She said the deceased stayed out unusually late, necessitating a search for him, leading to the discovery of his body.
