Mohammed Ismail Sharrif, professionally known as Black Sherif, has won the Artiste of the Year award at the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

Blacko, as he is popularly known, swept four awards on the night out of nine nominations.

The others nominated for the coveted award were Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, King Promise, Camidoh, KiDi and Joe Mettle.

Black Sherif’s hard work and dominance under the year of review were prevalent as songs he recorded with others also emerged as tops.
