We Did Our Best To Keep Mr Drew At Highly Spiritual But He Rejected It– Kaywa Reveals
The Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Highly Spiritual Music and music producer David Kojo Kyei known as Kaywa has revealed that his company did their possible best to maintain ‘Shuperu’ hitmaker Mr Drew in their label but he rejected it.
Ghanaian highlife and Afrobeats musician, Mr Drew, in previous interviews disclosed that he parted ways with Highly Spiritual Music because his contract ended.
Moreover, Mr Drew in other instances said he left the Highly Spiritual Record label because he want to seek a change in his career path.
Kaywa, speaking on why his artiste, Mr Drew left his record label said, indeed Mr Drew’s contract ended but they had another plan for him to stay in the record label but he refused.
“The initial five-year agreement between the label and the singer came to an end. Although the label had intentions to continue working with Mr. Drew in the future, he had already made up his mind to explore different opportunities and not be part of the company’s plans.”
“Mr. Drew expressed his desire for change, and in respect of his decision, we had no choice but to allow him to move on”, he added.
The record label started in 2017 with musicians such as Kurl Songs, Yaw Berk, Krymi and King Maaga but they are all not with the label anymore.
Recently, the winner of the Best Hiplife Song and New Artiste of the Year at the 24th VGMA Lasmid, also announced his separation with Highly Spiritual Music Record.
