West Ham, Tottenham establish “club to club contact” over Mohammed Kudus
West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have officially contacted each other regarding a potential transfer of Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus from West Ham to Tottenham.
According to football insider David Ornstein, Tottenham submitted a £50 million bid for Kudus to West Ham on Saturday, July 5, but the offer was rejected.
Despite this, Ornstein reported that discussions between the clubs are ongoing, as the 24-year-old midfielder is open to moving from West Ham to Tottenham.
Kudus has been a standout player for West Ham despite the club’s disappointing 2024-2025 season, during which they finished 14th and replaced manager Julen Lopetegui with Graham Potter.
English Premier League clubs have until July 10 to activate Kudus’ £85 million release clause, while teams in Europe can do the same for £80 million, and clubs in Saudi Arabia can activate it for £120 million.
Tottenham, having qualified for next season’s UEFA Champions League, are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the tournament.
