Work on yourselves first before collaboration —Jayana tells new acts

Gospel musician Jayana has advised young musicians to put their acts together by working on themselves first before seeking collaboration with seasoned acts.

Young musicians must do their homework well in terms of recording good songs, having good stagecraft and all the other elements that make an artiste complete before seeking collaboration.

The 2021 Emerging Music Awards (EMA) Gospel Artiste of the Year explained that A-List musicians do not want to associate their brands with just anyone so it is the responsibility of new artistes to make themselves attractive for the experienced artistes to work with them.

“I don’t think it will be difficult for me to get a collaboration from any seasoned musician because I have worked on myself. Most often, young musicians complain about established acts refusing to work with them, forgetting that they need to improve on themselves first”, she told Graphic Showbiz in an interview recently.

Away from that Jayana, born Jemima Annor- Yeboah is set to release a new single Faithful Is Our God tomorrow, Friday, May 26. Recorded and produced by Bempong Records, the new single which is rendered in the Highlife vein gives hope to individuals who feel discouraged and assures them of God’s provision, upliftment, comfort, strength and support.

The danceable song also inspires everyone to continue to give thanks to God, holding on to the fact that He is faithful.

Jayana’s voice did the magic on the song and with a little push, Faithful Is Our God can be a hit.

According to Jayana, she was inspired to do the song for anyone who may be experiencing rejection, loss, sadness, or uncertainty.

“Faithful Is Our God speaks to every individual who is down and wants to throw in the towel but be confident that God will provide you with all that you need to persevere. Psalm 33:4: ‘For the word of the LORD is right and true; He is faithful in all He does’.

“Things may happen which are out of our control but we must continue to give thanks for God’s faithfulness in our lives. Despite how you may feel or the circumstance that you are in, reflect on how God has been faithful to you,” Jayana said.

Jayana is known for others such as Victory, I Believe, Who You Are, Awurade, No Fear, Gye W’ayeyi and He Reigns.
