Prof. Ransford Gyampo, a Senior lecturer and Head of the Political Science Department at the University of Ghana who was captured in BBC Africa’s investigative piece ‘Sex for Grades’, has become the center of discussion on various social media platforms.
Some social media users are shocked and wondering why a man of his caliber, reputation and reverence would engage in such shameful acts.
Excerpts of the video released on BBC Somalia’s Facebook page captures Prof. Gyampo requesting to meet the undercover reporter in her home, but was later persuaded by the reporter to set the meeting at a mall where he was seen on camera making inappropriate demands.
What has triggered the outrage on social media is how the outspoken lecturer vehemently denied sexual harassment allegations leveled against him last year, and threatened to sue.
This new development has left many in shock and livid.
