28-year-old suspected mobile phone thief beaten to death by mob in Kumasi

A 28-year-old man believed to have stolen a mobile phone has been killed by an angry mob in Ash Town, Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region.

The deceased, Isaac Boadi, met his untimely death on Saturday, August 19.

He was reportedly accused of stealing a mobile phone in Ash Town and was subsequently apprehended by the angry mob.

They subjected him to severe beatings, leading to his death.

According to a police report, the situation was brought to the attention of the police by Anthony Adansi of Asawase, a relative of the deceased.

Mr Adansi explained that Boadi was nearly lynched by the mob but was rescued by two individuals.

The two good samaritans transported the weakened Boadi to Asawase Hospital using a tricycle. Noting his deteriorating condition, they rushed him to the Manhyia District Hospital.

Tragically, Boadi passed away shortly after his arrival at the hospital.

The body has since been transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for autopsy.

The police are actively pursuing the perpetrators involved in the fatal mob incident, as authorities aim to address the tragic event and bring justice to the situation.
