3 People Confirmed Dead After Car Crashes Into River In The Eastern Region
Three persons in a private Hyundai Sonata car with registration number GS 777-16 have been confirmed dead after crashing into a river along the Accra-Kumasi highway.
The unfortunate incident occurred at Enyiresi in the Eastern Region on Friday, May 20.
Reports indicate that the driver of the Hyundai vehicle lost control, somersaulted and plunged into a nearby river when he attempted to swerve a Sprinter bus to prevent a head-on collision.
The reckless Sprinter bus driver did a wrong overtaking and entered the lane of the Hyundai car.
All three occupants of the Hyundai car, comprised of two females and a male, drowned and died on the spot.
The Police and personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) towed the vehicle from the river and retrieved the bodies for preservation at the Engresi Hospital morgue.
