40-year-old man lynched in Nyankpala

A 40-year-old man has been lynched in Nyankpala in the Northern Region for allegedly stealing goats and sheep.

The deceased, Fatawu Alhassan, and two others were caught in the act.

The two, however, managed to escape while the deceased was caught in the process, attacked and killed by unknown persons.

Joy News reported that the police “on the spot investigations revealed that an Opel Astra with registration number GE 8663-Y in close proximity to the scene suffered some damages in the process of the lynching.”

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

The death of the 40-year-old man comes weeks after a nonagenarian in Kafaba in the Savannah Region, was lynched for being a ‘witch’ in the full glare of community members.

At least seven suspects including two-people who led her lynching are in the grips of the police.
